Realities Phase II Salon has been in Altadena for a long time, built one client at a time. For 35 years the business ran on word of mouth. No website, no ads, just good work and people telling their friends. That is a rare thing, and it is worth saying out loud.
Then the Eaton Fire changed the ground under all of us.
What the fire took, and what it did not
The fire displaced much of the community that kept this salon full, and it caused heavy ash and smoke damage to equipment and product. Rebuilding a client base that was scattered overnight is hard. What the fire did not touch is the craft. Thirty-five years of skill does not burn.
Getting back on solid ground meant doing something new after decades of staying the same: putting the business online for the first time.
Why a website now
The goal is simple. Stay in front of the clients who are finding their way back, and reach younger clients who look for a stylist on their phone before they ask a friend. A website, a real presence on Instagram and Facebook, and professional photos of the work all do the same job. They let the salon speak for itself when word of mouth cannot reach far enough.

What stays the same
The work does not change. Color, cuts, braiding, hair augmentation and installation, wig customizations, press and curls, and perms, for all hair types, all nationalities, and all ages. A small team of braiders works alongside the chair. Lately much of the focus is on clients dealing with hair loss and hair problems, where honest advice matters as much as skilled hands.
And the giraffe stays. If you know the salon, you know there is always a giraffe somewhere. It stands tall, it stands out, and every pattern is one of a kind. That felt like the right mark for a brand that has quietly stood out for 35 years.
